Valentine’s Day is based on Saint Valentine. Today we celebrate Valentine’s day with candy, big fluffy teddy bears, roses, romantic dinners, or just a great big hug. I say WHY NOT! At least for those of us who are committed to our marriages. 🙂
The truth about Saint Valentine is that he loved the Lord. He loved the Lord enough to respect the bonds of Marriage. At a time when Christians were being persecuted, he performed a lot of secret weddings.
In the end, his love for the Lord would martyr him. He conformed his life to the Great Commission. He went to his grave trying to convince the Emperor of Rome to accept Jesus Christ into his life.
The parallels between those times in Rome and today are staggering. Christians are under attack. Marriage has been redefined. Families are falling apart because men are treated like second class citizens. BUT there is hope…
Real Hope this Valentine’s Day!
For all the hype surrounding President Trump, there is genuine excitement about Vice President Mike Pence. Mike Pence was married in 1985, and he has stayed committed to his responsibility as a husband and father through it all. President Trump is a shining example of business success.
Vice President Mike Pence is a shining example of Christian success. This man loves his wife and his children. His life is an example of how servant leadership can take you to the top.
He stands as an example to those of us who are working on that 30-year milestone. His wife stands as an Icon for stay at home moms. The struggle is real!
I personally believe that Mr. Pence would tell you he couldn’t have done it without his wife! That’s what real men do, they love their wives no matter what. They recognize and honor the hard work she does to keep him on top of the world!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
This Valentine’s day, know that you don’t have to look far to see that marriage works. All you have to do is put the Lord first, your spouse second, and together you put your children at the top of your priority list.
The VP was spotted in the public today! What are those?

So, GO! Go and enjoy this Valentine’s day. Have a wonderful meal with your wife or husband. Give thanks to our Lord, because we can still marry as Christians without fear that we will die trying!
Today I tip my hat to Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen Sue Pence. Thank you both, for living your lives an example of how marriage works and lasts!
